The IRS recently released the statistics on transactions of foreign-owned domestic corporations (that is, from Form 5472 – Information Return of a Foreign Owned Corporation).

1,140 returns were filed in 2012, most of them in the manufacturing and wholesale trade industrial sectors.

The total number of foreign-related persons amounted to 25,989.

Canada represents approximately 8 % of those foreign-related persons and approximately 12 % of the total amount.

Europe accounts for over 60 % of the total amount and just under 40 % of the number of foreign-related persons.

The complete statistics for 2012 and historical stats are available here.
